SENCO and Pastoral Care 2018
One of the highlights for me throughout 2018 has been working closely with our RTLB liaison person Caroline Winter, being introduced to and working with the Mana Ake team and Christine Hoseason our Social Worker in Schools. We were quick to develop positive relationships and have been in regular communication. The needs of our students and some of our families have been addressed quickly and connections and support put in place.
I have been thankful for the relationships we have built because not only are the people from different agencies great people and fun to work with, but our children and families have been able to begin their journey in dealing with things they have going on for them.
In the first year of Mana Ake involvement, we have a significant number of students who have been able to access some form of support. |
We have had ongoing support through RTLB and my professional development and learning has been fantastic. |
• Engage in reciprocal, collaborative learning-focused relationships with: – learners, families and whānau – teaching colleagues, support staff and other professionals – agencies, groups and individuals in the community.
